A huge thanks to all that helped out with last weekend’s Church Gate collection, a total of €1915 was raised over the weekend, well done and thanks 😊

Academy notes

A good week for our minor teams who recorded wins in both football and hurling over the past eight days.

On Friday last our U17 footballers dug out a hard earned win over Parteen-Meelick in bad weather conditions in Parteen on a 2-9 to 2-6 scoreline. On Wednesday they backed this up beating Banner 3-8 to 2-7 to stay on course for a semi-final place. On Monday evening the lads won a cracking game in the U17 Hurling Academy A Championship beating Doora-Barefield 4-13 to 3-17 in Gurteen bringing them to the verge of a place in the final.

Best of luck to our U13 footballers in Friday evening's Div. 1 Championship semi-final v Doora-Barefield in Eire Og.

Parents will have noted that the age groups their children play at have now changed to U6, U8, etc etc. Whatsapp groups have been reformed this week to take account of these changes.

Best wishes to all Academy players taking part in Clare Development Hurling Final Games this Saturday at various venues throughout the country.

Camogie notes

Best of luck to our intermediates in tonight’s home game v St. Joseph’s at 7pm, come on up and show your support for the girls in this home tie. Our U16s championship starts with a home tie v Parteen Meelick this Wednesday at 7pm.

Our U14s are competing in the A grade this year for the first time, having made the rapid step up from C to B to A in the 2021 and 2022 competitions. While they haven’t won any games yet, they have given some excellent performances and the group are improving with every match played at the higher level. They lost 7.07 to 2.04 to Inagh Kilnamona on Wednesday, next up is Scariff Ogonnelloe away on Sept 2nd.

Cash for Clothes: Drop your old or unwanted clothes (clean, dry, reusable), shoes (pairs) and handbags Gemma at camogie training times. The last date for dropping is Sept 4th so get a start on that clearout!
