Caint is Craic

"Caint is Craic" is a very informal gathering of people of all ages, who are interested in making use of their cupla focal or indeed exploring those recesses of their mind where their school Irish now slumbers awaiting resurrection, free from the constraints of the Tuiseal Ginideach, Modh Foshuíteach and other obstacles placed in their way while in school. We just try to conduct simple conversations in a mix of Irish and English around everyday topics, such as the awful weather, the latest local news, the fortunes of the Clare hurlers and footballers-in fact anything anybody wants to spout about. We occasionally use snippets from TV programmes, píosaí ceoil etc. to stimulate discussion. All for an hour in the clubhouse Committee Room on Thursday evenings, 9-10 pm, followed by even more informal conversation in the bar afterwards.

Think you might be interested? Just come along and give it a try. Beidh fáilte romhat.

Virgin Media -The Clinic for Well People

We have been asked to share the following which may be of interest to you or someone you know:

My name is Olga and I am a TV researcher contacting you from Vision Independent Productions, the producers of RTE's Operation Transformation.

We are making a new health-related series for Virgin Media called The Clinic for Well People.

We are inviting people of any age (over 18) who do not have any underlying conditions to come along to our clinic for a full health check which will include an ECG heart test, blood testing, full body composition scan plus additional tests for sight, hearing, bowl screening, skin testing, lung tests and anything that needs further investigation based on every individual case.

Our clinic will be run by GPs, nurses and specialists in varying fields to offer the people attending the most extensive health check possible for free. For many people who are healthy they may not know that there could be something undetected that needs attention, and this information could help them to get the help they need in order to catch illness before it becomes an issue in their lives. For others, they may find out that they have a full bill of health, bringing them peace of mind.

I am looking for people all over the country to take part and I would be grateful if you would be able to circulate this email to members of your GAA club.

Below is a link to the application form if anyone is interested in applying:

https://register-form.vipvids.ie/the-clinic

This will be the second series of the show and you can visit our website for more information https://theclinicforwellpeople.ie/

Filming

Filming will take place for one day in Dublin at the end of May and there will also be some dates in June as well.

Applicants must be over 18.

We are looking forward to seeing if any of your members would like to take part and if so they can follow the application link above which will only take a few minutes to fill out.
