Junior A Football Final 2023

All roads lead back West tomorrow where our Junior A footballers take on Killimer in this year's Championship Final. The game throws in at 3pm in Killmihil and tickets are available at a discounted price online here: https://eventlist.store/claregaa/tickets?ftredirect=1 (gate cost is €10 for adult and €8 for student/OAP while online prices are €8 for adults and €5 for student/OAP) The game will not be streamed but we will have updates on the club Twitter page for those away or unable to attend.

We wish the team and management the very best of luck on the day and hope to see plenty of red and white shouting on from the stand.

Please note that a minute's silence will be observed in honour of Des Neylon ahead of the final, and also at our U21 hurling and football games this weekend. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam

Many thanks to Mike Brennan for all photos used in the above collage.

Fixtures

Also this weekend our U21 B hurlers play their second round on Saturday morning and our U21 A footballers get their championship campaign underway on Monday. Best of luck to both teams, all support greatly appreciated.

Academy notes

Best wishes to our U14 footballers who contest the Div.1 Shield Final on Saturday at noon in Éire Óg. Our opponents are Kilrush/Killimer. Please note that there will be a €5 charge at the gate for over 16s.

Due to a bereavement in Quin, Monday's U14A Hurling Shield final v Clooney-Quin is postponed.

Great to see a number of current Academy players among the panels in this year's U21 Hurling & Football Championships. We wish all panels the best for the remainder of their campaigns.

Good wishes to the clubs Junior footballers, who have some recent Academy graduates in their ranks, in Saturday's Junior A Final in Kilmihil.

A large number of our past and present Academy players have been acquitting themselves very well in this seasons Munster Post Primary Schools competitions. We always keep a close eye on our lads when they tog out for their respective schools.

Ladies football notes

U12s had their final game of the season vs Banner who made the long trip in from Shanaway Road.

32 girls played and we fielded two teams as did Banner - a great sign of the continued participation in LGFA at underage!
Super support from our parents and thanks to Tom (Banner) and Aidan (Eire Og) for reffing.

We’re taking a break for the winter but will see everyone in 2024 while the girls home their skills in the schools comps.
