Upcoming Club minor and adult championships

All roads lead to Clarecastle Saturday at 1pm where our U17 minor footballers take on Wolfe Tones in the 2023 Championship Final. A huge thanks to Brian Pyne of Brian Pyne Tiles and to Liam O'Doherty of GILDOC for their generous sponsorship of a hoodie for every player in our Under 15 & Under 17 age groups. The very best of luck to the team and management who have all given much time and effort into reaching the final. Looking forward to seeing a sea of red and white on the sidelines tomorrow. Come on the Townies!

A quick turnaround for our Junior A footballers who saw off the challenge of Kilmurry Ibrickane in the refixed game last Saturday winning on a scoreline of 1.12 to 2.06. On Saturday they take on Ballyvaughan in the semifinal at 3pm in Corofin, your support would be very much appreciated on the day!

Well done to our U21 hurlers who had a good win in the opening round of the B championship on Thursday evening away to Wolfe Tones, final score 1.15 to 1.07. On Sunday our C team host Inagh Kilnamona at 4.30pm, the very best of luck to them.

Our under 12s LGFA team had a great night in the clubhouse having pizza for the end of season. We had a huge crew of 46 register at the start of the season and we had over 40 girls play all through and turned up. It’s been a great season of development for the team and they have stuck together and grown as a group. Winners in 2 shield finals and finalists in the Marion Keane tournament. We were delighted to have coach Tom down last week also – we’re all looking forward to learning and developing.

A huge thank you to all our amazing and dedicated coaches who have looked after the girls this season 🇮🇩 it could be done without them! We hope to see many more parents take up the call for help with your gorgeous girls in 2024..... it is our pleasure and privilege to help them grow in confidence and skill BUT .... so few of us shouldn't be allowed to have all the fun 😁 bígí páirteach..... is craic iontach é 😉

Corporate Trustee update

Club’s Move to a Corporate Trustee Structure.

On Thursday October 12th, a Special General Meeting was held in the Clubhouse to discuss the proposal to move the Club’s Trustee structure from the traditional Personal Trustees to a Corporate Trustee structure as recommended by Croke Park.

A detailed and comprehensive presentation was given to the well attended members by our own clubman and Munster Council representative; John Brennan. The presentation detailed the advantages to the Club of making the transition to the Corporate Trustee along with the process and actions required by the Club to make this transition.

Following the presentation a Q & A session took place.

The proposal to move to the Corporate Trustee structure was proposed, seconded and unanimously passed by the membership in attendance.

The Chairperson acknowledged the decades of dedication and commitment to the Club of all our previous Personal Trustees who had fulfilled their roles as Trustees on behalf of the Club with distinction and a high level of professionalism.
