Come on the Townies

Upcoming Club minor and adult championships

A little nod and clap on the back to our junior B teams who have been hitting the high notes over the past week. The junior ladies last Sunday had a great win in an away game v Parteen Meelick, this was followed up by a great performance from our junior hurlers v Doora Barefield where they dug deep to emerge 3.12 to 2.13 winners v Doora Barefield. Last evening in Clareabbey our junior footballers bested Lissycasey on a scoreline of 4.05 to 1.07. A successful week all round with our senior and junior hurlers also making progress in their respective campaigns. Well done lads and ladies, hail hail.

Lissycasey will host our round 3 clash v Doonbeg on Sunday, this game is not being streamed by Clare GAA, we will have live updates on the club Twitter page @CLGEireOgInis

Éire Óg Games Development Officer update

We are delighted to announce that Thomas Barry (Inagh Kilnamona) has been appointed as GDO for the club, Thomas will be visiting all schools and will be coaching from next week. Huge credit to Brian Cooney, Kevin Brennan, Ronan Keane and the Games Development Committee for seeing through the process and securing the services of Thomas in advance of the schools reopening.

Academy notes

A good win for our U17 hurlers who march on into the Minor "A" semi-final having defeated Inagh-Kilnamona on Wednesday evening on a 3-12 to 0-15 scoreline. A big week ahead for the group with Minor football v Wolfe Tones the next challenge on Monday evening in Shannon. A result of some sort is needed here to keep us in the hunt for a championship semi-final place. On Wednesday evening Sixmilebridge provide the opposition in the delayed Rd. 1 fixture of Minor "A" hurling. The match in the 'Bridge will decide our final placing in the Division and pair us against either Clooney-Quin or Inagh-Kilnamona in the semi-final.

Our U15 age group are off to Inis Oirr on Friday/Saturday for a well earned little breakaway together to mark the season just ended.

U14 A hurling commences this weekend with our boys taking on Cratloe on Sunday morning at 10.30 in Cratloe.

Best of luck to our U13 footballers taking on Lissycasey in the Division 1 Championship Final on Friday evening in Éire Óg. Game throws in at 6.30.
