Intercounty

The very best of luck to Orla Devitt with the Intermediate Clare Ladies team in Sunday’s All-Ireland final v Kildare. It’s great to see Orla and the team reach the final after last year’s heartbreaking loss in the semi after extra time.

The game throws in at 1.45pm in Croke Park and will be shown live on TG4 and Clare FM will also have live commentary.

Academy notes

A good week for our minor hurling teams with both winning their matches midweek.

In the "A" Championship the boys beat Cratloe 2-18 to 1-09 to keep their push for a semi-final spot on track.

Our Academy team had a 3-15 to 2-07 win over Sixmilebridge which keeps them in the chase for a final spot.

Unfortunately our U13 hurlers lost out to Kilmaley in this weeks Academy "A" semi-final bringing an end to U13 hurling for this year. Thanks to Joe, Kevin, Richie, Alex and Jack for looking after the group this year.

Academy football training resumes on Monday evening for U5 and U7. Doora-Barefield are visiting for a blitz between the kids.

The Academy are always on the lookout for parents to get involved to assist at training sessions. We will be asking parents of children aged up to 10 years to consider helping us out on a regular basis. We understand that there is a commitment required but we need to recruit coaches and assistants all the time to keep the show going. Please consider helping out around the Academy. Don't leave it to someone else to provide coaching for your children. Their future in Gaelic Games is very dependent on the early years and proper development. It will not happen by accident.

Camogie notes

Hard luck to our intermediates who narrowly lost out in a tough encounter away to Whitegate in Friday evening’s opening round game, next up is Tulla at home next Friday at 7pm. Our U14s continue their championship on Wednesday with home venue for their tie v Kilmaley, throw in 6.30pm.

The club is hosting an U15 intercounty tournament Saturday 12th from 9am. Best of luck to all teams involved.

Cash for Clothes: Drop your old or unwanted clothes (clean, dry, reusable), shoes (pairs) and handbags Gemma at camogie training times, please text Gemma in advance on 086 208 0543.
