The Craic is back! Thursday evenings, 9 a chlog in the clubhouse, for anybody who would like to try the cupla focal. No tuiseal ginideach or modh foshuíteach, just a chat about this and that using as much Gaeilge as you're comfortable with. Beidh fáilte roimh cách. Bain triail as.

Ceol na nÓg starts up again next week-Wednesday evening this year, ar a 7 a chlog. We hope to see all of last year's happy group back again with their concertinas, fiddles, flutes, whistles, bodhráns etc and we're hoping to start a beginners group as well for anybody just starting out. Ideally we'd like children of ten and over (boys and girls) who have the vary basics at least. Last year's group made huge progress under the expert eye of Maeve, so we're looking forward to raising the clubhouse rafters this year.

Academy notes

No luck for our U17 footballers and hurlers this week as both lost out in their respective Championship games on the road in Shannon and Sixmilebridge. Defeat to Wolfe Tones means we need results to go our way in other games to make the Championship semi-finals. With a semi-final place in the "A" Championship secured our minors were hoping to avoid defeat v Sixmilebridge to secure 3rd in the table. Having lead by five points midway through the second half the team appeared to run out of steam and a strong finish from the 'Bridge saw them run out winners by 2-15 to 0-19 points in a highly entertaining game. Inagh-Kilnamona will provide the opposition in two weeks time.

28 players from our U15 group enjoyed a two day trip to Inis Oirr last weekend. The weather was fantastic and the lads had a great Tim's on the island. Thanks to the mentors who organised the event.

Congratulations to our U13 footballers who secured the Division 1 title with a win over Lissycasey in last weekends championship final played in Éire Óg. The result was Éire Óg 2-11, Lissycasey 0-07. This is the Academy's third underage "A" Football win this season following on from the U15 successes during the summer.
